Imagine…

Australian communities that are resilient and regenerative.

Where communities are prepared for adversity, know how to support each other and have a sense of a collective safety net.

Imagine a day when all players, including governments, emergency agencies, businesses and others, recognise the leadership capacity of our communities.

This is what we aim for.

Together, we're building a network of individuals and communities who care for each other, adapt in front of future adversities, and regenerate with vitality.

Mission: to build the resilience and regenerative capacities of Northern Rivers and Australian communities in the face of disasters and crises.

Aims:

  • continuously map actors of the resilience ecosystem

  • facilitate a deeper sense of community by building connections among Northern Rivers and Australian residents

  • educate, train, inform, support and mentor individuals and communities to build their understanding, skills and knowledge in community resilience and regeneration

  • partner with organisations at local, regional and national levels to build on each other's work

  • respond to disasters and crises by activating, leading and supporting our networks, such as the Community Carers and Responders (CCR) network

  • research and evaluate ways to have the greatest beneficial impact in building community resilience

  • influence decision-makers at all levels to understand and support the unique role that community plays

Our values:

  • We seek to have a real impact on people’s lives. We want Australian communities to be effectively prepared to future disasters and crises and able to face them, recover from them and regenerate in the best possible ways.

  • We are inclusive and collaborative in the ways we work and relate to others.

  • We seek to inspire communities to take action and support each other.

  • We seek to act from a place of inner stillness.

Connection. Regeneration. Resilience. In an nutshell, this is what we are all about

Resilient and regenerative communities are designed to leave more than they take from the environment, from others, and from themselves.

Cooperation and connection are rewarded.

This creates abundance rather than depletion, allowing us to live within our natural and social limits, as well as resilience, allowing us to adapt in times of disasters and crisis.

This is achieved through holistic thinking, designing and implementing regenerative principles in every aspect of our communities.

Let’s do it together. Join the movement!
