A/Prof. Alessandro Pelizzon
Board Member
Associate Professor Alessandro Pelizzon brings a wealth of expertise in legal anthropology, ecological jurisprudence, and Indigenous rights to the Plan C board. As an academic in the School of Law and Society at the University of the Sunshine Coast, Alessandro has dedicated his academic career to exploring the intersections of law, culture, and the environment.
A co-founder and Executive Committee Member of the Global Alliance for the Rights of Nature (GARN), Alessandro has been instrumental in advancing the global discourse on Earth jurisprudence and the legal recognition of nature's rights. He also serves as the Director of GARN’s International Academic Hub and is an expert member of the United Nations Harmony with Nature program.
Alessandro's recent publication, "Ecological Jurisprudence," reflects over 15 years of fieldwork and offers a comprehensive exploration of how legal systems can integrate ecological principles. His commitment to bridging human laws with the laws of the natural world aligns seamlessly with Plan C's mission to foster resilient and regenerative communities.
