Dr. Claire McLisky is an historian, researcher, and writer with a deep commitment to exploring the legacies of colonialism and the intersections of social and environmental justice. She currently serves as an adjunct lecturer at Southern Cross University and as a senior researcher on the ARC Indigenous project, "Lawful Relations," at Deakin University.

Claire's academic work delves into Aboriginal history, colonial history, and the history of emotions, emphasising the importance of understanding historical contexts to inform present and future justice initiatives. Her dedication to these fields is evident in her contributions to various research projects and publications.

Residing in Bangalow with her partner Paul and their two young children, Claire is deeply invested in her local community. Through her role at Plan C, she aims to foster connections, resilience, and regenerative practices within her community, building everyday relationships of trust and friendship in her street, village, and beyond.

Claire is the lead author of our scoping study on Mutual Aid, which was undertaken as part of a global investigation into how grassroots communities respond to crisis.
