Young CCR: NextGen Navigators

Our NextGen Navigators pilot program in Mullumbimby was really successful! Thanks to the innovative work of Rena Frohman (Plan C Program Director) and Jean Renouf (Plan C CEO) who adapted our Community Carers and Responders (CCR) training to be more youth appropriate, interactive and engaging.

We are also so grateful for the support, facilitation and energy from Libby Tooth and Elizabeth Gwynne in Psychological First Aid, Scott Poad in Bushcraft skills, Stephanie van de Wiel in First Aid and Dusty McOnie as Mullumbimby High School's Student Support Officer (SSO).

The participants are currently starting their community projects/actions with Dusty's support.

We have been impressed with how students engaged with the 4 days of training, what they took away from the program and also their well considered feedback about what can be improved and evolved. Their insights and suggestions will help us create an even better program for our next iteration. Stay tuned!

The highlight was definitely when we returned to present students with their caps and certificates. Check out our reel to see their proud smiles!
