Exciting news: Funding secured to continue building resilient communities!
We’re thrilled to announce that we've secured significant funding to expand our resilience-building programs, ensuring more inclusive, accessible, and community-focused initiatives. Here’s what’s coming up over the next few years:
2 years of CCR (Community Carers and Responders) training
Thanks to Healthy North Coast, we'll extend our Community Carer and Responder (CCR) training and network in the Northern Rivers, empowering local communities to respond confidently in times of need and build community in times of peace.4 years of NextGen Navigators Program
With support from Multicultural NSW, we’re rolling out a 4-year youth disaster resilience program through our NextGen Navigators initiative. This program equips young people with essential skills to lead and support their communities in times of need. Recognising the prevalence of misinformation and disinformation during disruptions, NextGen Navigators also focuses on building evidence-based critical thinking skills, empowering youth to assess credibility and reliability when bombarded with information of all sorts.1 year of Preparing with Pride: LGBTIQ+ Resilience Project
With funding from the Northern Rivers Community Foundation, we’re collaborating with Queer Family to deliver a year of disaster resilience learning opportunities designed for and delivered with LGBTIQ+ community members, who face unique challenges during crises. Through a series of trauma-informed, inclusive workshops, participants will gain practical skills in disaster preparedness, psychological first aid, and emergency planning. The project aims to foster collaboration, reduce social isolation, and empower the community to respond effectively and support one another during disasters.
And there's a couple more in the pipeline (we can't share the news yet)! Buckle up! 2025 is going to be a big one and we are so grateful to be able to continue and expand our important work with you.
