Mary River Catchment CCR: New dates added

We’re excited to share that 53 community members have stepped up to become Community Carers and Responders (CCR) in the Mary River Catchment, in Queensland! Across Gympie, Pomona, and Maryborough, our CCRs have completed their initial 3 days of disaster resilience training with us, and are now diving into First Aid and Psychological First Aid training. Good news, the feedback has been fantastic!

Participants praised the engaging, fast-paced nature of the First Aid sessions led by Desley from Rapid Response First Aid - Sunshine Coast, who tailored the training with her passion for disaster response, making every moment captivating and relevant. A big thank you also goes to our Psychological First Aid trainer, Tarni Jennings, who brings with her a vast amount of experience working in recovery in disaster affected communities. Participants said:

"It was a great course, all useful information"

"Highly, highly recommend to others"

For those interested, we’ve added new CCR training dates in Imbil, so feel free to apply!

  • Day 1: 23 November 2024

  • Day 2: 29 November 2024

  • Day 3: 30 November 2024

The more people from your own community who join, the greater the impact! Working alongside others with shared skills and knowledge builds momentum, motivation, connection, and readiness.

If you know someone who’d benefit, please share this opportunity with your neighbours, family, colleagues, and friends.
